The Founder – Peter Treacy

I believe if you are active, you will be healthier and happier.

After recovering from a car accident in 1980 that left him a right leg amputee and severely burned, Peter learned to ski again and became the first certified disabled ski instructor in Quebec. In 1995, Peter’s dream came true when he founded the Eastern Townships Disabled Skiers Foundation to encourage people with disabilities to realize sports are for everyone. Now called the Adaptive Sports Foundation, Peter continues to live his passion and vision of helping people take the “dis” out of “disability” by offering winter and summer programs with the dedication of over 100 volunteer instructors and countless, generous donors.

Improving the quality of life through sports!
